I attended my first meeting with my internship host today at The Boys And Girls Club Of Lasalle. It went really well. This internship is to improve my english speech and to include more words in my vocabulary.There is some specific goals that I would like to improve as my pronounciation, because sometimes i'm a little bit nervous when I talk in my second language(L2). I tend to talk to fast and miss pronounce my words. Some learning strategies will help me to accomplish my goals as to practice my english with the people with who I am gonna be working during the internship. Constantly searching for meaning will also help me if I don't always understand the langugage. There is one thing I like to do is to analysing speech. I love to observe others and observe the way they speak in their native language. Repeating after native speaker also helps me to understand quickly. Speak to my self loud is one thing that I often do to learn a new words or to prepare my self to meet someone new.
My fisrt impression was 'WOW' this internship will be very interesting for me because I love working with little kids and to help them in their difficulties. Also, I will be working with kids around 2-3 years olds that speak french, English and some speaks other languages. So I will be helping them to practice their second language(L2). I'm excited for my reel first day at Boys and Girls Club !!
